The C. S. O'Brien Library provides published medical information needed to support the teaching, research and clinical practice needs of faculty, fellows, residents, and other staff of the University of Iowa's Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.
The collection encompasses the literature of ophthalmology and the eye and closely related health care fields.
Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences personnel may check out most library materials for 4 weeks. Periodicals may be checked out overnight. The general public may use library materials on site. A photocopy machine is provided so that removing materials should not be necessary.
The O'Brien Library is a part of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences of the University of Iowa Health Care and is not affiliated with the University of Iowa library system. The Hardin Library for the Health Sciences is also on the UI campus. Ophthalmology and Visual Science Department staff have borrowing privileges from any University of Iowa Library using a University of Iowa staff ID card or your hospital badge.
